Laghetto dell'Ischia

Fishing & relax

The Laghetto Ischia is a small, natural lake located a short distance from the town of Mezzocorona, and following major restoration work it is now open to the public and for fishing.

The lake, formed by the natural damming of a rivulet running down from the adjacent mountain, has an attractive circular shape and a maximum depth of 2 metres. It provides an ideal habitat for brown trout, rainbow trout, a type of small carp known as alborella, and chub, which swim just below the surface.

You can get to the lake from Mezzocorona or Mezzolombardo along a charming path through the vineyards, and once there you can indulge in a spot of fishing (with a visitors’ permit), relax in the tranquil surroundings, enjoy a picnic in the designated area and admire the beautiful view of the Piana Rotaliana.

It is also the starting point for the Strada delle Longhe footpath and the Burrone Giovanelli via ferrata.
